Dues – We are still collecting dues. Paying them gets you attendance at our upcoming events along with super cool TBLS swag. The fee schedule is as follows:
1Ls – $55
2Ls & 3Ls (New to TBLS) – $30
2Ls (Returning) – $20
3Ls (Returning) – $10
To pay dues: You can pay dues in several ways:
Cash or Check- Please leave a clearly marked envelope with your name and email at the TBLS mailbox at the communications center in the atrium. Checks can be made payable to the Texas Business Law Society. Email email@example.com when you drop off dues so that someone can collect them.
Venmo- Venmo our VP of Internal Affairs Reed Hash, at @Reed-Hash. Place your name and year level in the subject line.
10/18 Baker McKenzie Presentation – On Wednesday, October 18 at 5:30 p.m., lawyers from Baker McKenzie will be coming to deliver a presentation titled, “A Day in the Life of a Transactional Attorney” in the Sheffield Room. The time has been moved from a morning event to an evening one and will be followed by a reception. This presentation will provide an overview of the daily responsibilities of a transactional lawyer and how various transactional practice fields intersect with one another. RSVP here.
10/25 Associate Luncheon – TBLS is hosting its annual associate luncheon on Wednesday, October 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Joe Jamail Pavilion. This is a fantastic opportunity to hear first hand about what it is like to practice transactional law straight from the field. Attorneys will be attending from Sidley Austin, Kirkland & Ellis, Haynes & Boone, Bracewell and Morgan Lewis. Remember, attendance is limited and for dues paying members only, and you must RSVP to attend. Business casual attire is required for attendance. RSVP here.
11/1 Haynes & Boone “Crash Course Oil and Gas” – Attorneys from Haynes & Boone will give a presentation on oil and gas transactional law, a great opportunity for aspiring Houston Lawyers. The even will be in JON 5.257 from 11:30am-1pm. RSVP here.
